Connecting Rural Communities to the Future: Far West Texas Digital Workforce Convening

Big conversations. Bold ideas. Rural opportunities.

On August 27, 2026, Collegiate Edu-Nation (CEN), through its EPIC Initiative, brought together regional leaders, educators, workforce partners, and industry professionals in Fort Stockton for the Far West Texas Digital Workforce Convening.

The event sparked meaningful conversations around artificial intelligence, data center development, workforce training, apprenticeships, infrastructure readiness, and emerging economic opportunities across rural West Texas.

Attendees heard firsthand perspectives from community and industry leaders, including Haskell Mayor Christina Isbell, who shared her community’s experience preparing for data center development and the opportunities and challenges that come with growth.

More than a convening, the event reinforced the power of regional collaboration and the importance of connecting education, industry, and community leadership to build a future-ready rural workforce.

The takeaway? Rural communities don’t have to wait for opportunity. They can help shape it.

CEN is proud to help bring partners to the table, spark conversations, and turn emerging opportunities into meaningful pathways for rural communities.
