WHY APPLY?

For participating employers, this program cultivates a well-trained workforce. CEN, as the program sponsor, serves to connect employers to apprentices.

WHO CAN APPLY?
To qualify for the RAP, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 and able to provide proof of age.
- Be a high school graduate or have their GED.
- Submit a DD-214 to verify military training (veterans only).
- Be physically capable of performing essential duties of the program, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Successfully pass a background check.
- Pass a drug screening if required by the employer.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable at normal commercial ratesÂ

The CEN Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is a combination of On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Related Technical Instruction (RTI) in which the apprentice learns the practice, theoretical aspects and concepts of the occupation.

The Edu-REACH Registered Apprenticeship Program for Automotive Technicians is a comprehensive, competency-based initiative approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
HVAC tech
The Edu-REACH Registered Apprenticeship Program for HVAC Technicians, developed in partnership with local educational institutions and leading HVAC service companies, is a rigorously structured, competency-based training registered with the U.S. Department of Labor.
Rural P-20 Teacher
The Edu-REACH Rural P-20 / K-12 Teacher Registered Apprenticeship Program is a strategic collaboration with West Texas A&M University as part of the #TeachWhereItMatters initiative. This innovative program is specifically designed to tackle the rural teacher shortage by training high-quality educators through a comprehensive P-20 system model. Our partnership focuses on developing mentor teachers and supporting teacher candidates throughout their teacher residency, ensuring they are fully prepared to meet the unique challenges of rural education.
Welding
The Edu-REACH Registered Apprenticeship Program for Welding is designed to equip aspiring welders with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the industry. This program is a part of our commitment to fostering skilled trades through high-quality, hands-on training and mentorship, aligning with standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Nursing
Our program partners with leading healthcare institutions to provide rural nursing apprentices with real-world experience in a clinical setting. Apprentices engage in a comprehensive curriculum that covers essential nursing skills, patient care, medical ethics, and the latest healthcare technologies. This blend of classroom instruction and clinical practice ensures that each apprentice develops a thorough understanding of both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Auto Tech
In an era where technological advancements are reshaping industry demands, our program connects talented students from rural communities with leading automotive service departments. This partnership facilitates a work-based learning environment where apprentices can gain practical experience and earn wages simultaneously. Through specialized training directly linked to manufacturer standards, both new and incumbent workers develop advanced skills that meet the evolving needs of consumers and the automotive industry.
Our Registered Apprenticeship program offers a dynamic work-based learning structure, enabling students to directly engage with and learn from the seasoned service teams at dealerships. Apprentices work closely with dealership personnel, allowing them to build valuable professional relationships and deeply understand manufacturer standards and service protocols within a real-world setting.
HVAC TECH
As industries evolve to meet new environmental standards and consumer demands, our program offers aspiring HVAC technicians a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on, practical learning. This work-based learning experience is designed to connect students with seasoned professionals in the field, providing both theoretical classroom learning and real-world practical training. Apprentices earn while they learn, gaining valuable work experience and a competitive edge in the job market.
Our program emphasizes the mastery of industry-specific skills, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, compliant with current environmental and safety standards. Apprentices receive personalized training and mentorship from experienced technicians at partnering companies, fostering an environment where they can build professional networks and learn industry protocols directly from experts in the field.
RURAL P-20 TEACHER
This registered apprenticeship program emphasizes a multi-tiered training approach. We provide rigorous training for mentor teachers to enhance their coaching and mentoring skills, essential for guiding the next generation of educators. Additionally, teacher candidates receive sustained support and practical training during their residency, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in real classroom settings under the supervision of experienced mentors.
Moreover, we train site coordinators who play a crucial role in the evaluation process, ensuring that both mentor teachers and teacher candidates meet the highest standards of educational excellence. These coordinators help maintain the integrity and effectiveness of our program by overseeing and supporting the implementation of best practices in teaching and learning within the rural P-20 education system.
COMBO WELDING
Our program connects students with experienced professionals in the welding field, offering a blend of classroom learning and practical, on-the-job training. Apprentices gain firsthand experience in various welding techniques and materials, ensuring they develop a comprehensive skill set that meets industry demands. This direct exposure prepares them for a range of welding jobs, from construction and manufacturing to specialized custom welding projects.
Apprentices in our program not only learn the technical aspects of welding but also safety practices, blueprint reading, and metallurgical science. They earn while they learn, working alongside seasoned welders who provide continuous feedback and support. By the end of the apprenticeship, participants are well-prepared to secure professional welding certifications and pursue successful careers in the industry, bolstered by the strong foundation of knowledge and experience gained through Edu-REACH.
