To empower rural school districts and communities to support and educate students/youth, beginning at home, continuing from the first day of Pre-K through postsecondary, leading to meaningful careers for lifetime success.

CEN was founded by Dr. Kim Alexander and Marsha Alexander to break cycles of generational poverty in rural Texas.
Roscoe Collegiate ISD (RCISD) was the first CEN district; since then, CEN has expanded to serve over 35,000 kids in 44 districts.
Roscoe ISD partners with Western Texas College to begin a dual credit program.
RCISD becomes the first Early College High School (ECHS) in rural Texas.
RCISD earns T-STEM designation from the TEA to develop a project-based learning environment for STEM.
RCISD becomes the first rural school wide PTECH academy.
CEN partners with West Texas A&M University to support students earning bachelors degrees.
The first cohort of students enter into the bachelors degree program with West Texas A&M University working towards earning their degrees in Roscoe through P-TECH support.
CEN is formed to scale the success of RCISD in Texas and beyond.
Cohort 1: Hamlin and Throckmorton Collegiate ISDs join Roscoe Collegiate ISD as the first schools in the CEN network.
Cohort 2: Cumby and Floydada Collegiate ISDs join the CEN network.
At age 19, Amanda Sanchez graduated as the first student to earn her bachelor’s degree with CEN support.
Cohort 3: Iraan-Sheffield, Lytle and Sunray ISDs join the CEN network.
CEN is recognized by TEA as a School Action Fund Technical Assistance Provider.
CEN launches the Rural Hope Fundraising Campaign.
100% of the initial cohort graduated with their bachelors degree with zero student debt, at an average age of 20, and with a higher GPA than the average West Texas A&M University student.
Cohort 4: Banquete, Bellville, Colorado, Freer, Hico, Spurger, Venus ISDs join the CEN network.
CEN provides P-TECH technical assistance to Diboll, Hartley, Rankin, and Taft ISDs.
A vendor for Educate Texas to support rural P-TECHS.
CEN named the winner of Education Showcase at ASU-GSV conference.
CEN partners with AASA to deliver national support to rural districts across the country.
Cohort 5: Post, White Deer, Gustine, Maud ISDs join the CEN network.
Cohort 6: Uvalde, Itasca, Seagraves, Taft ISDs join the CEN network.
Registered Apprenticeship + Teach Where it Matters program begins with West Texas A&M University.
MOU signed with Texas A&M to provide One Health and rural community capacity building.
